The tension and conflict between Left and Right is often mischaracterized as being between liberals and conservatives. In reality, The fundamental differences between left-wing and right-wing ideologies center around the the rights of individuals vs. the power of the government. Left-wing beliefs are liberal in that they believe society is best served with an expanded role for the government. People on the right believe that the best outcome for society is achieved when individual rights and civil liberties are paramount and the role — and especially the power — of the government is minimized.

To suggest that "The current “war against right-wing extremists" is in fact—and always has been—a war against the Left," is a bizarre and nonsensical conclusion.

What we are seeing, with the defund the police movement, the open borders, and the intentional infection of the entire nation with COVID-19, is a calculated step towards total control of the people by Big Government. By letting criminals run unchecked in Democrat-run cities, by having Soros-funded district attorneys set dangerous predators free without bail, and by running down those who trespassed in Washington, DC on January 6, the Biden administration is proving that it will stop at nothing to attain complete control of America's citizens - and hopefully before there is another election.

Admittedly, Donald Trump let many of his Libertarian and Free Speech advocates down by not giving Julian Assange and Edward Snowden pardons. John Moffit, in his latest Substack.com Blob Watch article, gives a balanced and fair picture of our 45th president. While 45 did an excellent job in representing America (both in foreign affairs and domestically), he let us down by allowing the Swamp to continue its terror campaign against honest journalism and integrity. But that is another story.

I was disappointed to see the arch-conservative Ronald Reagan given an obligatory insult in the last paragraph of this essay; but happy to see that we still have some semblance of freedom of speech, at least here on Substack.

The traditional pictures of liberal and conservative have been up-ended in the past seventeen years. The Democratic Party, while it still panders to the teachers' unions, is no longer the party of working people. It now caters to the rich and powerful, to the tech giants. The mass media, long a puppet for the Democratic Party, has lost all interest in reporting on actual news and now does nothing but promote totalitarian propaganda.

To say the least, I was disappointed in this article.

Thank you J. Gala for allowing an unsubscribed "boomer" to comment on your site; I landed here as a result of your citing your article in a comment on Glenn Greenwald's latest article.

Your article is focused upon an interesting observation elucidating the decades long hypocrisy of CONservative "right-wing" social and political propaganda, and I enjoyed the read for the most part. As I'm a lifetime traditional and modern Jazz aficionado, you can probably discern the parts I disagree with.

By the way you have attracted a couple attack trolls.

While I admire your audacity, it is ridiculous to say that the war against conservatives is actually a war against radical leftists. Simply because you quote yourself does not lend credibility to your nonsense"

In closing, I did listen to your bands tune "How Long Has This Been Going On" Kudos! Here's a little something y'all may dig.

As Usual,

I agree. It is a sad state of affairs. I don't know what happened to the link I attempted to post. In response to your comments about music, I thought you would enjoy listening to Peter White's MUSIC FOR STARLUX AIRLINES. Electronics are so mysterious. C2

PS. Have you ever heard Chet Baker's DEEP IN A DREAM? Heart-breakingly beautiful.

@ Charles Clemens ✔

Well Charles, I just listened to the Baker tune here (with 50 Italian strings)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKy9eOEoNfc

Kinda reminds me of something Bobby Darin could have done an interesting version of.

Anyway, did you ever take a listen to the Herbie Mann "Push Push" album❔

Good to hear🤔from you.

As Usual,

EA😎

I listened to What's Going On and Spirit in the Dark. Great music. I was a Herbie Mann fan in the early seventies. I somehow missed Push Push. Then I got married to a woman with kids and lost touch with myself for 13 years.
